In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design and customize a 16″ beaded bag handle using a curated selection of 100 gemstones, freshwater pearls, and glass beads handpicked by Melissa.

Part creative escape, part wearable art, this workshop is the perfect excuse to gather your girlfriends, come solo, or add a little color to your Savannah weekend. You’ll learn how to mix textures, play with color, and create a bag handle that feels collected, personal, and perfectly punctuated. Whether you’re brand new to jewelry-making or simply looking for a creative afternoon, you’ll pick up the basics of beaded jewelry making—everything from sourcing materials and arranging beads to finishing your bag handle with crimp beads and clasps.

This workshop welcomes participants ages 18 and up, as well as younger guests attending with a parent or guardian.

ARTSTRYNGS Gallery is pleased to present SUMMER FREQUENCIES, a vibrant group exhibition celebrating the intersection of music, movement, and the sensory spirit of summer. Opening July 10 and on view through August 21, 2026, the exhibition brings together a diverse collection of artists whose works explore the visual language of music through expressive brushwork, luminous color, texture, rhythm, and emotion.

Inspired by the energy of music and summertime nostalgia, SUMMER FREQUENCIES transforms the gallery into an immersive exhibition where viewers can experience sound as visual form. Across painting, collage, ceramics, mixed media, and furniture design, each work interprets a visual frequency—capturing vibrations carried through warm evening air, sun-soaked days, coastal breezes, joyful celebrations, and timeless seasonal memories.

Blending fine art with rhythm and emotion, the exhibition invites viewers to experience art as frequency: layered, immersive, and alive. Guests are encouraged to gaze across the canvases while listening to the silent yet audible, visual vibration of each work of art, told in paint strokes and rhythm—a highly curated exhibition where each piece embodies sound and the vibration of summer.

SUMMER FREQUENCIES is proud to support the Savannah Music Festival, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, with 10% of all exhibition art sales donated to the organization’s year-round music education and community outreach programs. Historic Savannah Foundation and the Davenport House Museum proudly present the Artisan Spotlight Series at Historic Kennedy Pharmacy, located at 323 East Broughton St. in Savannah. The Artisan Spotlight Series offers engaging, immersive workshops and provides a dynamic platform for artists and artisans to share their creative processes with local residents and visitors.

This hands-on workshop will begin with a brief exploration of indigo’s historical significance in Georgia followed by an introduction to the unique properties of this remarkable natural dye and an explanation of basic indigo vat chemistry. Participants will have the opportunity to work with prepared indigo vats and will use a variety of resist techniques—including clamps, woodblocks and tie methods—to create patterns on cotton scarves. Each participant will leave with a one-of-a-kind dyed scarf, along with detailed instructions for washing and finishing their piece at home.
