Town of Thunderbolt Launches Inaugural Sustainability Summer Event on June 13
Community invited to enjoy a day of environmental education, recycling opportunities, local organizations, and family-friendly fun at Cesaroni Park
The Town of Thunderbolt is proud to announce its inaugural Sustainability Summer, a free community event dedicated to environmental awareness, responsible stewardship, and community engagement. The family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cesaroni Park, bringing together local organizations, sustainability advocates, nonprofits, businesses, and residents for a day of learning, connection, and action.
As communities across the nation seek innovative ways to protect natural resources and reduce environmental impact, Sustainability Summer aims to empower local residents with practical tools and knowledge they can use in their everyday lives. The event will showcase a variety of organizations committed to sustainability, conservation, recycling, environmental education, and community improvement.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore interactive exhibits and educational booths, meet local nonprofits and community partners, discover environmentally conscious products and services, and learn simple ways to make a positive difference at home and throughout the community.
"We are excited to introduce Sustainability Summer as a new opportunity for our residents and neighbors to come together around an important cause," said Mayor Dana Williams. "Protecting our environment starts with education and community involvement. This event is designed to be both informative and enjoyable while highlighting the many organizations and individuals working every day to create a healthier, more sustainable future."
One of the event's featured attractions will be a special collection station hosted by Atlantic Waste. Community members are encouraged to bring old tires, batteries, and unwanted electronic devices for proper disposal and recycling. By providing a convenient way to dispose of materials that should not be placed in traditional landfills, the collection effort helps reduce environmental impact while promoting responsible waste management practices.
In addition to educational opportunities, attendees can enjoy delicious offerings from local food trucks while spending time with family, friends, and neighbors in one of Thunderbolt's most beloved public spaces.
The event reflects the Town of Thunderbolt's ongoing commitment to preserving the area's natural beauty, protecting local waterways, and fostering a strong sense of community responsibility. Organizers hope Sustainability Summer will become an annual tradition that inspires residents of all ages to think creatively about sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Whether you're interested in learning about recycling, discovering ways to reduce waste, connecting with local organizations, or simply enjoying a fun day in the park, Sustainability Summer offers something for everyone.
