👩🏼‍💻Meet your speaker, Ally Findlay!
Ally Findlay is the Activities Coordinator for the Chatham County Recycling Programs, where she supports municipal recycling efforts and leads outreach and education programs in resource conservation. She also is working as a research assistant for the Savannah Riverkeepers, helping to design a reusable container system for Savannah to reduce consumption of single use items. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Georgia Southern, with her undergraduate research specializing in human impact on Tybee Island’s dune restoration project. She recently completed her Master’s degree in Sustainability at Harvard, Ally plans to continue her career in environmental advocacy and resource conservation, and believes there is no greater goal for hers and future generations than to create a better planet designed around sustainable living for all its inhabitants.

Lasagna is proof that good things are built one layer at a time. In this hands-on class, you’ll prepare fresh fillings, rich sauces, and perfectly balanced bakes while exploring variations beyond the classic, from vegetable-forward creations to comforting parmigiana-inspired interpretations.

Along the way, you’ll learn the techniques that make every slice hold together beautifully and every bite feel like it came straight from an Italian family table. Expect plenty of layering, generous portions, and no shortage of reasons to make it again at home.

Historic Savannah Foundation and the Davenport House Museum proudly present the Artisan Spotlight Series at Historic Kennedy Pharmacy, located at 323 East Broughton St. in Savannah. The Artisan Spotlight Series offers engaging, immersive workshops and provides a dynamic platform for artists and artisans to share their creative processes with local residents and visitors.

This hands-on workshop will begin with a brief exploration of indigo’s historical significance in Georgia followed by an introduction to the unique properties of this remarkable natural dye and an explanation of basic indigo vat chemistry. Participants will have the opportunity to work with prepared indigo vats and will use a variety of resist techniques—including clamps, woodblocks and tie methods—to create patterns on cotton scarves. Each participant will leave with a one-of-a-kind dyed scarf, along with detailed instructions for washing and finishing their piece at home.

No experience is necessary to participate in Historic Savannah Foundation’s Artisan Spotlight Series workshops. Space is limited, and advance registration is required. To register, please visit davenporthousemuseum.org/public-programs.

Bring in gently used cookbooks you no longer use by Friday, July 17 to receive a voucher for each one. Every ticket purchased helps create stability, opportunity, and hope for young people facing crisis situations — giving them the support they need to stay safe, return to school, build confidence, and move toward a brighter future.

Miles to Margaritas is a 5K run/walk that helps raise awareness and support for local pet rescue organizations. We are currently working to engage the Savannah community and are hoping to reach hundreds of participants while supporting a great cause.
