CHARITY PET FOOD & PET TOY/BLANKET SUPPLIES DRIVE : we are working with Chatham90 the coalition of local Animal Rescue groups for a PAWS FOR THE HOLIDAYS, -to collect, donations, pet food, pet toys, blankets, supplies. These need to be in new/good clean condition.
What happens at this event:
JUST SOCIAL – all we do is bring in food, pet donations, and then stand around/ sit around and chat – Everyone gets a name tag with where you are from and around 3PM – we’ll have a quick check in – and go around room each person states:
1) your name and
2) where you are from
3) When/what brought you to Savannah
4) Where you now live in Savannah -what part ?
– helps people to get to know each other

The Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Council will host its annual Biscuits and Bills Legislative Breakfast on Thursday, November 20, at 8:30 a.m. at the Savannah Convention Center. Join us for the ninth annual Oyster Roast for a Reason, a fundraising event hosted by Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant. The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 1-4 p.m. on the bluff next to the UGA Aquarium on Skidaway Island, Georgia. Guests will enjoy a catered buffet, beverages, live music by City Hotel, and have the opportunity to eat local oysters – roasted and on the half shell!

Oyster Roast for a Reason is an event tailored for adults. All attendees, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Don’t forget your ID if you are 21+. We do encourage those with children to explore our public aquarium, which has several exhibits for younger audiences, on a separate occasion. Learn more here.

Funds raised through Oyster Roast for a Reason will support environmental education experiences at the UGA Aquarium, aquaculture research and training opportunities and new internships for college students. Learn more about these initiatives as well as sponsorships below.

Join United Way of the Coastal Empire on Thanksgiving morning at Daffin Park for its 17th Annual Turkey Trot! Come as you are or in a Thanksgiving themed costume and hit the 4-mile course.
The race route starts at Daffin Park, loops through the picturesque Ardsley Park neighborhood, and ends back at Daffin Park. Participants are invited to a post-race awards ceremony, which includes food and beverages. No rollerblades or bicycles please. Pets are permitted only with participants and on a leash. Strollers are welcome! We are rain or shine!

8:00 am Kids K (0.62 miles, ages 10 and under) (kids k race bibs will be available at packet pick-up *complimentary, included participation ribbon)
8:15 am Diaper Dash (35 yards/0.02 mile, ages 3 and under, *complimentary)

Shelter From the Rain, Inc. (SFTR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, based out of Savannah, Georgia, that provides assistance to single mothers and children in need. This year, we are raising funds to support our new Mental Health for Single Moms program, our Virtual Tutoring Services for Students, our Community Diaper Bank, our Hope For the Holidays Christmas Giveaway and our other programs for moms.

That’s the question the residents of Mistletoe Falls have to answer in this all-new chapter in the hit “Christmas in Mistletoe Falls” series, a hilariously irreverent musical skewering of TV Christmas movies from a guy that writes a lot of them.

The denizens of Mistletoe Falls have been through a lot! At first, it seemed to be the kind of place that only existed in one of those cheesy TV Christmas movies; a place where everyone loves the holidays, the girl always gets the guy, and there’s always a happy ending. It was nice, but not exactly “real.” Some magical help from Santa helped them keep the good stuff and get rid of the bad stuff and it seemed like they were all ready to live happily ever after. But the lure of cheesy TV Christmas movies is strong and before they know it, things started to go back to old ways that they thought they had left behind, driven there, in part, by a dastardly version of Mrs. Claus!

But they worked it all out and everyone thought they were going to live happily ever after. Little did they know that murder was on it’s way to Mistletoe Falls and it is time for Santa to meet his maker!

So, who killed Santa Claus? That’s up to you! The audience gets to vote at intermission and then we’ll change the ending based on what you decide!

Screenwriter Rick Garman has written nearly two dozen holiday films for networks like Hallmark Channel and Great American Family, and is once again bringing that Christmas magic to the Savannah Cabaret stage!

Filled with live cabaret performances of holiday classics like “Holly Jolly Christmas,” “Let It Snow!,” “White Christmas,” “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” and many more, this is sure to be a holiday classic that hopefully won’t get the guy who writes movies like this fired.
