Eastern Wharf is delighted to host the second annual Eastern Wharf Food Truck Festival on Saturday, November 15 from 1 to 6 p.m. This free, family-friendly event is the Lowcountry’s biggest and tastiest food truck festival and will feature more than 30 food trucks showcasing the breadth and depth of the region’s growing food truck scene, plus high-energy live music throughout the afternoon.

The second annual Eastern Wharf Food Truck Festival will feature food trucks serving Asian, Latin, Jamaican and Caribbean dishes as well as classic American fare and Southern favorites, from smoked BBQ to fresh seafood.

Participating local food trucks include 520 Wings, Bowtie Barbecue, Molly’s Fish & Chips, Vida Fresh by Latin Chicks, The Big Cheese, Sweet Spice Mobile, King of Pops, Bayou Cafe Food Truck, Keller Wood Fire Pizza, Ark Royal Burgers, Little Diddle’s Sweetery, The Red Taco Truck, Philly Boyz Cheesesteaks, Mac Attack, Krazian, Royal Tasty Avenue Food Truck, The Naked Dog, Slow Fire BBQ, Starship Ice Cream, The Cone Ranger, WagginWheels, Nieve with Love and Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffee & Smoothies.

In addition, regional food trucks will include Wild Caught Seafood from Fayetteville, Ga.; Miso Hungry from Statesboro, Ga.; Don Ques Southern BBQ, La Taqueria Oaxaquena and Shake It Up Milkshake Bar from Brunswick, Ga.; and Oakan, Orale and Low Country Lobster from Bluffton, S.C.

Attendees can also enjoy free, live performances throughout the afternoon by some of Savannah’s top local bands, including acclaimed country crooners Lyn Avenue, talented indie rock trio Whaleboat, favorite bluegrass band the Salt Flat Pickers and soulful blues ensemble Willie Jackson and the Tybee Blues Band.

Join us for the ninth annual Oyster Roast for a Reason, a fundraising event hosted by Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant. The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 1-4 p.m. on the bluff next to the UGA Aquarium on Skidaway Island, Georgia. Guests will enjoy a catered buffet, beverages, live music by City Hotel, and have the opportunity to eat local oysters – roasted and on the half shell!

Oyster Roast for a Reason is an event tailored for adults. All attendees, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Don’t forget your ID if you are 21+. Join United Way of the Coastal Empire on Thanksgiving morning at Daffin Park for its 17th Annual Turkey Trot! Come as you are or in a Thanksgiving themed costume and hit the 4-mile course.
The race route starts at Daffin Park, loops through the picturesque Ardsley Park neighborhood, and ends back at Daffin Park. Participants are invited to a post-race awards ceremony, which includes food and beverages. No rollerblades or bicycles please. Pets are permitted only with participants and on a leash. Strollers are welcome! We are rain or shine!

At first, it seemed to be the kind of place that only existed in one of those cheesy TV Christmas movies; a place where everyone loves the holidays, the girl always gets the guy, and there’s always a happy ending. It was nice, but not exactly “real.” Some magical help from Santa helped them keep the good stuff and get rid of the bad stuff and it seemed like they were all ready to live happily ever after. But the lure of cheesy TV Christmas movies is strong and before they know it, things started to go back to old ways that they thought they had left behind, driven there, in part, by a dastardly version of Mrs. Claus!

But they worked it all out and everyone thought they were going to live happily ever after. Little did they know that murder was on it’s way to Mistletoe Falls and it is time for Santa to meet his maker!

So, who killed Santa Claus? That’s up to you! The audience gets to vote at intermission and then we’ll change the ending based on what you decide!

Screenwriter Rick Garman has written nearly two dozen holiday films for networks like Hallmark Channel and Great American Family, and is once again bringing that Christmas magic to the Savannah Cabaret stage!
