Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Training

Neighborhood Improvement Association (NIA) is recruiting volunteers to give back to the community. We operate the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program which is free tax preparation. VITA has a major impact on taxpayers and the community. We save taxpayers millions in tax preparation fees and help them claim credits for which they qualify. The credits help increase their refunds sometimes raising some taxpayers out of poverty. Our training is 2 days per week, with 2.5 hours for three weeks – a total of 15 hours.
