On Sunday, February 22, at 2 p.m., the Bonaventure Historical Society is kicking off its 2026 Living History lecture series with the history of Savannah’s municipal cemeteries. Luciana Spracher, the City of Savannah Archives & History Officer, will explain the city’s historical burial grounds. From Savannah’s first municipal cemetery located off of Wright Square, to the recently acquired Evergreen Cemetery, learn how the city’s burial grounds have grown and changed over the last 293 years.
The Living History lecture will be held at Bonaventure Cemetery inside the Jewish Chapel. Tickets, both in-person and livestreamed, are $10 for Bonaventure Historical Society members and $15 for non-members. As parking is limited, please plan to arrive 10 minutes early.
