Supper at Sea: Superstition

Supper at Sea: Superstition is a benefit dinner for Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum infused with maritime superstitions, legends, and enduring symbols of good fortune. The immersive evening features an elegant interpretation of a sailors feast under the stars, and an exhibition of ceramic and fiber work inspired by maritime craft, stories, and the sea.

Proceeds from the evening will support the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum’s free educational programs which shared Savannah’s maritime history with more than 4,000 children and families last year.

The evocative exhibition of ceramic and fiber art honor the artisanal skills once practiced aboard seafaring vessels including basketry, knot-tying, net and sail making, pottery, carving, and illustration. Created especially for Supper at Sea by local contemporary artists, these one-of-a-kind works will be offered for purchase in a benefit silent auction.

Chef Brandon Carter of Common Thread will prepare an elegant, alfresco dinner featuring his inventive, coastal-inspired cuisine crafted with locally sourced ingredients. The thoughtfully curated menu pays homage to the sea, reimagining maritime culinary traditions into a refined dining experience with each course offering a tribute to the flavors and stories of the ocean.
