Shiitake Mushroom Log Building Workshop

Spend your Saturday inoculating your own mushroom log that you will get to bring home and learn the basics of outdoor mushroom cultivation with guest speaker and mushroom specialist Matthew Monohan of Blue Heron Farms.

For Matthew, mushrooms are more than a fascination—they’re a way of life. His journey into mycology began while running a mulch business, where he first recognized the potential of fungi to transform entire ecosystems. Through his self-education in mushroom genetics, he has learned how to both cultivate and build a relationship with these remarkable organisms. Matthew is also a licensed wild forager, opening up a whole new world of discovery and respect for nature’s rhythms.

Join us for this hands-on experience outdoors at Savannah Hydroponics & Organics located at 4107 8th Street, Suite C, Garden City (next to the Savannah State Farmer’s Market.).
The price of the class is $90 per person and includes the instruction and all materials needed to grow outdoor mushrooms on a log that will be provided for you.
