SCAD Cinema Circle: The Thomas Edison Film Festival

The Thomas Edison Film Festival returns to Trustees Theater with a mesmerizing collection of short films for its 2024 edition. Formerly known as the Black Maria Film Festival, this event has advanced the unique creativity and power of the short-film format for more than 40 years, promoting innovation and advocating for independent filmmakers through a juried international competition that celebrates all genres and hybrids from filmmakers around the world. Viewers will enjoy a specially curated selection of winning and bold contemporary works from this year’s showcase, followed by a virtual filmmaker Q&A.

Tickets for the event are free for SCAD Card holders, $5 for students, military, and seniors, and $8 for the general public.
