Savannah's Waterfront Independence Day Celebration

Savannah’s Waterfront is delighted to host our largest annual event, the Independence Day Celebration, on Saturday, July 4, 2026 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. This event is free and open to all. Plans include live music on three waterfront stages – Plant Riverside District, Rousakis Riverfront Plaza and The Park at Eastern Wharf.

At 9:30pm the skies will be lit up by a dazzling fireworks show, perfectly synched to patriotic tunes for the enjoyment of guests in Rousakis Riverfront Plaza, Plant Riverside District, Eastern Wharf, and the Savannah Convention Center. The approximately 20 minute spectacle is fired from a floating barge in the Savannah River.

“There is no better place to celebrate America’s 250^th anniversary than right here on River Street, where the colony of Georgia began” said Julie Musselman, Executive Director of Savannah’s Waterfront. “We have some fun new additions this year including the Most Patriotically Dressed Contest, 250^th specials featured throughout the summer in our restaurants, hotels and shops, and even commemorative hats and t-shirts for purchase.”
