Rhythm and Rhyme: Dean Sams Songwriter Series

An Exclusive Night of Stories and Hits from Country Music Legends and Rising Stars 

The Mars Theatre and the City of Springfield announce the second installment of its acclaimed Rhythm and Rhyme Songwriter Series, taking place on Thursday, February 27, 2024. Hosted by Dean Sams, founding member of the multi-platinum country group Lonestar, the event will once again bring together some of the most celebrated songwriters in the music industry. 

This unique evening will feature Grammy-winning songwriter Tim Nichols, whose hits include Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying” and Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California”; rising star Jamie Floyd, known for her versatile writing across genres and Grammy nominations; and Frank Myers, the Grammy-winning co-writer of iconic songs such as “I Swear” and Lonestar’s “I’m Already There.” Each artist will share personal stories and insights into the creative processes behind their beloved hits. 

Dean Sams expressed his excitement about the upcoming show: “The Mars Theatre provides such an intimate setting that allows songwriters to connect with the audience in a really special way. These are the stories behind the songs you know and love, and it’s an honor to help bring them to this stage.”
