On Friday and Saturday evenings in February at 5:30 p.m. (except Friday, February 13). The last program is on Saturday, February 28.

Experience the unique and flavorful fortified wine and hear how it intertwines with the history of Savannah, as a port city and a center of hospitality. Mid and late 19th century Savannahians, Ward McAllister* and William Neyle Habersham, will be linked to Madeira and Madeira parties.
*McAllister, who with Mrs. Astor, became the arbiters of NY society said, “In Savannah and Charleston, from 1800 up to the Civil War, afternoon wine [Madeira] parties were the custom.”
The program is a 75-minute experience that provides an overview of what Madeira wine is and its connection with Savannah.
Participants should be able to stand as well as walk up and down stairs.

Admission: $36.50 per person. The program is limited to 14 participants. We anticipate selling out.
Patrons must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
