"On the Verge: The Book of Bones" with Tambor Fantasma and the GSU Percussion Ensemble

“On The Verge” new music series presents Tambor Fantasma and the GSU Percussion Ensemble on November 1, 2024.

The Fred and Dinah Gretsch School of Music at Georgia Southern University and the Savannah Cultural Arts Center present the On The Verge new-music series featuring percussion virtuosos Bruno LoBianco and Oscar Albrieu Roca, members of Tambor Fantasma, a leading ensemble in the contemporary music scene of South America as they arrive in the United States to present their upcoming album release: The Book of Bones. The program brings together works that revolve around the theme of the sound of bones in the imagination of death, including the U.S. premiere of They Whisper in Your Ear by GSU faculty composer Martín Gendelman. Tambor Fantasma will be joined on stage by the Georgia Southern University Percussion Ensemble, and faculty members Dr. Matthew Fallin and Dr. Stephen Primatic.

FREE. Doors at 7:00pm, show at 7:30pm. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the show – unused tickets after this time will be released.
