Please join the community on October 7th at 5:30 pm as we come together to show solidarity and community strength. The event will feature messages of hope, personal reflections, a performance by the Savannah Philharmonic, prayers for peace and honoring the lives lost and those still captive. Dr. Ronen Hoffman is an Israeli academic, politician and diplomat and will serve as our speaker.

About Dr. Hoffman:
Hoffman was born into a farming family in Afula and studied political science at Tel-Aviv University. He worked as information officer at the Israeli consulate in Atlanta and as a personal aide to Yitzhak Rabin during the 1992 elections. He was a member and the coordinator of the Israeli delegation to the peace talks with Syria from 1992 to 1994 under Prime Minister Rabin, and in 2000 under Prime Minister Barak. In 1997 Hoffman co-founded the International Institute for Counter Terrorism at the Reichman University and served as its first CEO.
In 1999 he completed his doctorate at the Department of War Studies at Kings College London. He then worked for many years as a lecturer at the Reichman University, focusing on Foreign Affairs, Diplomacy and Political Psychology.
In 2012 Hoffman joined the new Yesh Atid party and became a member of the 19th Knesset, a member of the Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee and as the Chairman of the Sub-committee on Foreign Policy and Public Diplomacy.
Most recently, Dr. Hoffman was the Ambassador of Israel to Canada from 2021 to 2023.
