Grammy and Latin Grammy Award-winning flautist Nestor Torres brings his internationally acclaimed blend of Latin jazz, contemporary jazz, classical, and world music to Nickel & Oak for an unforgettable evening of live performance.

Born in Puerto Rico, Torres studied at Berklee College of Music, the Mannes School of Music in New York City, and the New England Conservatory in Boston. Throughout a career spanning more than three decades, he has performed and recorded with an extraordinary range of artists, including Herbie Hancock, Tito Puente, Gloria Estefan, Kenny Loggins, Dave Matthews, Paquito D’Rivera, and Arturo Sandoval. His performances have also included appearances with the New World, Cleveland, and Singapore Symphony Orchestras.

With 18 albums to his credit, Torres has earned four Latin Grammy nominations, one Latin Grammy Award, and a Grammy nomination. His distinctive sound seamlessly weaves together Latin rhythms, straight-ahead jazz, pop, and classical influences, creating what critics have described as “an exotic mix of styles that takes the listener through American, Brazilian, and Afro-Cuban jazz.”

Beyond the stage, Torres is widely recognized for his dedication to music education and cultural exchange. His contributions have been honored with two honorary doctorate degrees from Barry University and Carlos Albizu University.
