Museums on Us® Offers Free Admission to Georgia Cultural Attractions for Labor Day Weekend on September 5th & 6th

Bank of America’s Museums on Us® program provides Bank of America, Merrill and Bank of America Private Bank credit and debit cardholders with free general admission to more than 225 cultural institutions nationwide on the first full weekend of each month.

For more than 25 years, Museums on Us® has expanded access to some of the nation’s leading cultural institutions while helping drive new audiences to partner museums. Cardholders can use the Museums on Us® location finder to search for participating institutions. With locations across the country, the program offers a wide range of experiences for all interests.

Atlanta History Center
Our War Too: Women in Service
See it before it’s gone! Labor Day weekend is the last chance to see Our War Too: Women in Service at Atlanta History Center. On loan from the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, this exhibition honors the nearly 350,000 American women who answered the call to serve their country during World War II, with hundreds of artifacts, interactive technology, and more.

Bartow History Center
Last chance to view Voices and Votes: Democracy in America, a Smithsonian traveling exhibition presented with Georgia Humanities. It explores the history of U.S. democracy and civic participation over nearly 250 years. The exhibition features historical artifacts, archival media, photographs, and interactive displays that trace both the evolution and challenges of democratic participation.

Booth Western Art Museum
Preternatural and the American West: Michael Scott, a compelling exhibition bringing together more than 30 works created over a six-year period, including a selection of field studies that explore the four elemental forces of the planet: earth, air, fire and water, and the complex relationship between the natural world and human intervention.

Georgia State Railroad Museum
Located in Savannah, Georgia State Railroad Museum is a beautiful National Historic Landmark located at the former Central of Georgia Railway Savannah Shops and Terminal Facilities. With a fully operational turntable, you have the chance to explore historic railcars, experience the handcar and go on guided tours. Be sure to check the train rides that run on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. Schedules and locomotives are subject to change, please call ahead (912) 651-6823.

High Museum of Art
New Acquisitions: Photography
New Acquisitions: Photography will highlight the extraordinary breadth of photographs the institution owns and celebrate how crafting a collection is an art form in and of itself. Featured photographers include Dawoud Bey, Rahim Fortune, Nikita Gale, Martine Gutierrez, Richard Learoyd, Baldwin Lee, Catherine Opie, Ed Panar, Susan Worsham and more. The exhibit will close on September 6.

Morris Museum
Painting Light and Air: The Art of Philip Mullen
Explore the bold, vibrant, heavily-textured paintings of florals and trees by acclaimed American contemporary artist Philip Mullen.

National Center for Civil and Human Rights
The Center’s Children’s Gallery, we will host an interactive “Change Agent Side Quest”. Visitors who complete the quest will receive a free prize. The Children’s Gallery will also host “Change Agent Crafts” for children, which will include making your own hats or creating trading cards.

Old Fort Jackson
Old Fort Jackson is a National Historic Landmark in Savannah offering daily cannon firings and interactive programs for adults, kids and families. It features historical weapons demonstrations and interactive programming for families. Daily cannon firings occur at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Pin Point Heritage Museum (Saturdays only)
At the Pin Point Heritage Museum, located in the former A.S. Varn & Son Oyster and Crab Factory in Savannah, visitors can experience the Gullah/Geechee culture firsthand. For nearly 100 years, the community of Pin Point was quietly isolated on the banks of the Moon River just south of Savannah. Now, you can explore the refurbished museum complex and experience multimedia presentations, exciting exhibits and unparalleled views of the marsh.

SCAD Museum of Art
Masako Miki ‘The Garden of Wandering Spirits’
Masako Miki transforms the gallery into an immersive Japanese-inspired domestic interior that opens onto an imagined garden landscape populated by felted-wool sculptures and watercolor paintings. Her work introduces viewers to enchanted characters known as Yōkai, supernatural beings from Japanese folklore believed to inhabit everyday items and elements of nature such as umbrellas, rocks and trees.

Savannah Children’s Museum
Located within the Central of Georgia Railway Carpentry Shop, Savannah Children’s Museum features over a dozen exhibits designed to expand the imaginations of children including an exploration maze, a reading nook and a sensory garden.

Savannah History Museum
Located in the former Central of Georgia Railway Passenger Depot, Savannah History Museum takes you on a journey through time from Savannah’s earliest days to the present, with unique exhibits and interactive experiences for the family. Explore the city’s military, musical and cultural legacy, including the new “Loyalists & Liberty: Savannah in the American Revolution” exhibit, featuring 17 expertly restored Revolutionary War-era cannons.

Savoy Automobile Museum
New Temporary Exhibit, Henry Ford’s Versatile Model T
Henry Ford’s Model T not only provided transportation to everyday men and women, but it was also used in various ways throughout the years. This exhibit will focus on variations created off the Model T platform.

Tellus Museum
Located on a 50-acre park-like campus just off I-75 in Cartersville, GA, Tellus is a world-class Smithsonian affiliate museum designed to open minds and ignite a passion for science. Tellus features six main galleries between two buildings, a 4K digital planetarium, an interactive fossil dig and gem panning area, and an observatory with a 20-inch telescope. With hands-on exhibits and eye-popping artifacts like an 80-foot-long Brontosaurus, a replica Wright flyer and an amethyst geode weighing two metric tons, visitors of all ages can find something to enjoy.
