Event Details

The 70s and 80s: Two decades that defined individuality and cultural expression. Through it all, the songs of those time periods have left an undeniable mark on society and in our every day lives, becoming a part of our routines in the present and undoubtedly… the future. On August 8th, Thomas Claxton’s “Me, Myself, & Us” Concert Series takes a trip back in time, welcoming Special Guests: Rick Marotta, Bob Glaub, and Will McFarlane, three performing artists that helped shape the music that we all know and love.

Credited on countless albums and hit songs, drummer Rick Marotta brought his impeccable groove to the iconic music of such artists as Steely Dan, Jim Croce, Aretha Franklin, James Taylor, John Lennon, and many others. His unique style has also made it’s way to the big screen through movies as well as television, notably as the Composer for such hit shows as “Everybody Loves Raymond”. The “Me, Myself & Us” Concert Series is honored to welcome Rick Marotta to our stage to share the stories and a taste of some of the legendary songs he left his mark on.

Bassist and Session Artist, Bob Glaub took his professional music career by the horns throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Bob has laid the groundwork for iconic artists such as Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart, Warren Zevon, Bob Dylan, and too many others to list. The MMU Concert Series is looking forward to bringing the legendary Bassist, Bob Glaub, to the “Hostess City of the South”.

Friend of the “Me, Myself, & Us” Concert Series, Will McFarlane, took his Guitar magic to the National Stage with legendary female artists Bonnie Raitt, recording and touring on some of her earliest and best music. Deciding to stop touring full-time, Will brought his extraordinary gifts to the Southeast and began recording in such legendary studios as Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals working with the legendary session band, ”The Swampers”. The Series is excited to bring back our friend Will to share his incredible talents with the Savannah area.

The night will also feature:

And Savannah’s own:

* Ashlyn Rusgrove (Vocals, SCAD)
