“Love the Old-Fashioned Way: A Victorian Valentine Soirée” at Fort McAllister State Historic Park

Skip the ordinary this Valentine’s Day and step back in time at Fort McAllister State Historic Park.
Couples are invited to enjoy a romantic evening of dancing to period music in the historic setting of the fort, along with delicious food and sweet treats. Dance lessons will be offered throughout the night, so no experience is needed. Guests can also take a break from the dance floor to relax fireside in the historic barracks with their Valentine.
This event offers a unique alternative to the typical Valentine’s date and is open to guests 21 and older. Beer and wine will be available for purchase by cash or card. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited.

ADMISSION: Standard Tickets: $45 per person or $80 per couple. VIP Tickets: $60 per person (VIP tickets will receive reserved seating, a bubbly welcome, and a souvenir.) Need child care? ABOUT FORT MCALLISTER STATE HISTORIC PARK:
Located close to I-95 south of Savannah on the banks of the Ogeechee River, this scenic park showcases the best-preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy. The earthworks were attacked seven times by Union ironclads but did not fall until 1864—ending General William T. Sherman’s “March to the Sea.” Visitors can explore the grounds with cannons, a hot shot furnace, bombproof barracks, palisades and more, while a Civil War museum contains artifacts, a video and gift shop.
Nestled among giant live oaks, Spanish moss and salt marsh, this park is a beautiful location for camping, fishing, boating and picnicking. Seven cabins sit on stilts near the marsh, surrounded by palm trees and palmettos. The shaded campground is bordered by tidal Redbird Creek, a boat ramp, fishing dock and nature trail. A large picnic area offers river views and playgrounds, while another boat ramp provides access to the Ogeechee River.
