Telfair presents its observation of Juneteenth with two major programs celebrating freedom and African American history and heritage. The museum’s Juneteenth Kickoff Free Family Day will feature performances and activities including a libation ceremony followed by story-telling, artist demonstrations, and a musical performance. On Thursday June 15, Telfair will host a Juneteenth lecture presented by Queen Quet.
Juneteenth programs are free to local residents, thanks to investment from the City of Savannah, the Georgia Council for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
