Ashley Daneman is a jazz singer known for her emotionally rich, intimate sound that blends literary depth with experimental jazz. Her latest album, People Are Fragile (Flood Music), explores themes of loss, healing, and renewal. This show will include new music from her forthcoming album in 2026 as well as older favorites.
Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Daneman studied classical voice and performed in musicals before turning to jazz and songwriting in her twenties. She honed her craft in Washington, DC, New York City, and on tour throughout the U.S. A former resident artist at the Kennedy Center’s Betty Carter’s JazzAhead and the Banff Centre’s Jazz and Creative Workshop, she earned her master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music under the mentorship of Peter Eldridge, Kate McGarry, and Theo Bleckmann.
Ashley lives with her husband, trumpeter Benje Daneman, in beautiful Savannah, GA. Learn more at www.ashleydanemanmusic.com or listen here: https://ashleydaneman.bandcamp.com/album/people-are-fragile.
