The Savannah African Art Museum will host a special ribbon cutting and gallery opening celebration on Thursday, April 30, unveiling two new exhibitions that deepen visitors’ understanding of African art, culture, and heritage. The event will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the museum’s location on East 37th Street, with the official ribbon cutting scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Guests are invited to enjoy an evening of art, culture, and community as they explore the museum’s newest additions. The two featured exhibitions include The Liren Wei Collection, a new permanent gallery showcasing works from across West and Central Africa, and “Roots and Rituals: Agriculture and Spirituality in the West African Interior”, which examines the deep connections between farming practices, spirituality, and daily life among communities in Mali and Burkina Faso.
