“Drawn to the Sea: Maritime Stories From Savannah” is an exciting new exhibition and comic book featuring nautical-inspired, mixed-media art designed to interpret the historic voyages of the iconic Savannah ships Anne, SS Savannah, Pulaski and Wanderer.
Curated by Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum Curator Tania June Sammons, the exhibition features contemporary artists Lucy Bellwood, Avery Hick, Rich King and Sharon Norwood.
At the exhibition’s opening reception, attendees will enjoy music and light refreshments and have the opportunity to meet Hick, Norwood and Lee Heidel, the owner and managing partner of Neighborhood Comics who designed and published a special “Drawn to the Sea” comic book. Copies of the comic book will be available for purchase and can be signed by the artists on-site. “Drawn to the Sea: Maritime Stories From Savannah” will remain on display through January 31, 2027.
