Event Details

Savannah Indivisible will host a Data Center Town Hall on April 8, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Otis S. Johnson, Ph.D. Cultural Arts Center in Savannah.

Members of the Georgia Public Service Commission, data center experts, and elected officials will gather to speak with the community and answer questions. This town hall is an opportunity for residents to raise concerns about the ethical, economic, and environmental fallout of these sprawling complexes.

We’re asking questions like:

– Why do we need so many new data centers? Why can’t old ones be upgraded?
– What is the environmental cost?
– Why do data centers get tax breaks and zoning exceptions?
– Why do Georgia Power residential customers pay for data centers’ subsidies and discounts?
– What is the political process for their approval and how can residents get their voices heard?
