Beekeeping 101 Workshop

10may10:30 pm12:30 pmBeekeeping 101 WorkshopJoin us for this comprehensive class focused on the techniques and unique challenges of beekeeping in Coastal Georgia with guest speaker Alec Bruns of Wild Light Honey.

Event Details

Alec Bruns is a second generation bee keeper living in Savannah. Born right in the middle of a busy bee season, his first introduction to the world was the calm hum of his father’s hives. Only a few days old, Alec was carried out to the hives to “tell the bees,” an ancient Celtic tradition in which it is thought a great disrespect not to include them in important family news, such as births, marriages, or the passing of elders.
Being drawn back to the world of bees as an adult, Alec, and his company Wild Light Honey, produces local unfiltered raw honey, catches swarms, and performs bee removals while happily re-homing them in his apiary.
Alec’s focus is not only on the beautiful products the bees create, but also the magic and deep sense of wonder they can bring into our lives.
