Second Chance Theatre Company is excited to announce auditions for the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q!
Second Chance Theatre Company was founded to give adults who loved acting in their youth the opportunity to step back onto the stage and rediscover the joy of performance. Located in historic Savannah, Georgia, our mission is to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where experience, passion, and creativity meet—proving it’s never too late to follow your theatrical dreams.
AUDITION DETAILS
Dates: Tuesday and Wednesday, January 20 & 21, 2026, from 6:00 – 9:30 PM
Location: Victory North, 2603 Whitaker Street
Performance Dates: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 24, 25, & 26, 2026
Performance Location: Ben Tucker Theatre at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Performers should prepare a 32-bar cut of a song that best showcases their voice (additional material may be requested). Please be prepared to read from the script.
CHARACTERS
PUPPET CHARACTERS (Actors operate puppets)
Princeton – Fresh college graduate searching for his purpose in life; earnest, optimistic, and naive
Kate Monster – Sweet kindergarten teaching assistant looking for love and a better life; determined and hopeful
Nicky – Princeton’s easygoing, lovable roommate; comedic and good-natured
Rod – Nicky’s uptight, closeted Republican roommate, investment banker with a rigid exterior
Trekkie Monster – Reclusive, internet-obsessed monster; socially awkward and inappropriate
Lucy the Slut – Sexually liberated and free-spirited neighbor; confident and outrageous
Bad Idea Bears – Two adorable, mischievous bears who encourage terrible decisions, playful troublemakers
HUMAN CHARACTERS
Brian – Struggling comedian and Kate’s neighbor; underemployed but well-meaning
Christmas Eve – Brian’s ambitious wife, a Japanese therapist with limited English, is brilliant, determined and no-nonsense
Gary Coleman – Former child star now working as the building superintendent; pragmatic and world-weary
Avenue Q features adult humor and content. All performers must be comfortable with mature themes.
