Drawn from Telfair Museums’ permanent collection, Primary: Artists Working in Red, Yellow, and Blue explores how artists have utilized primary colors in adventurous ways to elicit brilliant experiences. Featuring works by Roy Lichtenstein, Ellsworth Kelly, and Joan Miró, these energetic and dynamic compositions introduce viewers to the expansive possibilities of a simple palette.

‘Tideland’ is an exhibition of black and white photographs by Savannah-based photographer Parker Stewart (b. 1992). Taken between 2020 and 2024, these evocative photographs document the coast of Georgia by transporting the viewer into the visceral and primordial atmosphere of the barrier islands and inland waterways.

The SCAD Museum of Art is proud to honor our U.S. service members by participating in the annual Blue Star Museums movement. In collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America, SCAD MOA welcomes active-duty military personnel and their families with complimentary admission starting on Armed Forces Day, May 17, through Labor Day, Sept. 1, 2025. Rutuja Pawase is pleased to announce an upcoming exhibition titled “The Geometry of Making”. Her first solo exhibition bridges ancient craft traditions and modern technology through the lens of Indian sacred geometry. Meticulously folded origami-like structures meet laser-cut components in sculptural installations that mirror nature’s organized complexity. These pieces capture a sense of dynamic movement, like plants frozen in the moment of unfurling.

Industrial processes—laser cutting, flatbed UV resin printing, and machine knitting—become tools for generating patterns that follow divine proportions found in nature. Rather than
representing a break from tradition, Rutuja’s digital fabrication methods echo geometric principles that transcend time and culture.

“The Geometry of Making” reveals the sacred within the technological and the natural within the industrial, demonstrating that craft evolution isn’t linear but a continuous dialogue where traditional handwork and digital innovation inform and enrich each other.

The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force honors and remembers the 26,000 airmen of the Eighth Air Force in World War II who never returned home with Flags for the Fallen: 26,000 Flags | One Mission.

This unique memorial flag garden of remembrance includes a 48-star American flag for each of the 26,000 men lost. The men of the Eighth in WWII served and were buried, under this flag.

The public is invited to experience the garden from May 23rd through Memorial Day, May 26th, 2025.

The mission of the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force is to preserve and share the stories of the heroes of the Eighth; each of these flags represents a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Fort McAllister State Historic Park is hosting a Memorial Day commemoration to pay tribute to patriots who died while serving in the U.S. military. Living history interpretations will take place throughout the day including musket and cannon firings. Rangers will hold a ceremonial flag folding in honor of those who gave their lives in service to our country. Tour the fort, museum, and grounds of Fort McAllister along the banks of the Ogeechee River. The event will conclude with a special ticketed guided tour at 2 p.m., giving visitors a chance to learn more about the history of Fort McAllister.

Regular admission prices range from $5.50 to $9.75. A Georgia State ParkPass is not required with paid admission.
