Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs' Women's Business Center Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Celebrate Launch of 20 New Businesses From GoGal Program
Twenty New Businesses will officially launch on Friday, March 28, 2025
Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE) Women's Business Center (WBC) is proud to announce the launch of twenty new businesses who went through the pilot GoGal Program, a transformative initiative designed to empower women of color in Savannah who aspire to become business owners. This groundbreaking program, developed in partnership with Step Up Savannah and Start Up Savannah, is supporting the launch of 20 new business starts through comprehensive resources tailored specifically for these entrepreneurs.
The GoGal Microgrant Program is proud to celebrate 20 graduates from the Chatham Apprentice Program who are not only women of color but also single heads of households. This innovative initiative aims to nurture their entrepreneurial aspirations by offering essential training, business planning assistance, and a $2,500 grant to cover various startup costs, including licensure, website and branding development, fees, headshots, and more.
“This program represents a transformative opportunity for our community. By empowering single women who are heads of households to become business owners, we can create a ripple effect of socioeconomic resilience and demonstrate the power of entrepreneurship in enhancing economic mobility within low-wealth communities of color,” said Vernell Stewart, Director of the Women’s Business Center. “The GoGal program aligns perfectly with the WBC/ACE philosophy of ‘help one, affect many.’ We are thrilled to advance our mission of closing the gap in business ownership by providing entrepreneurs with the essential educational and financial support they need to successfully launch and sustain their businesses.”
The GoGal Program represents a significant commitment to fostering entrepreneurship among underrepresented women, helping them acquire the skills and resources they need to thrive.
