Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum Celebrates Artist Arthur Beaumont, Official Artist of the U.S. Navy
What: Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum will be hosting a special celebration of artist Arthur Beaumont. The event will include a lecture by the featured artist’s son Geoffrey, interactive WWII demonstrations, 32 action-packed paintings, photo opportunities with Rosie the Riveter and the USS Indianapolis, Liberty Ship display, 1940s inspired music, a book signing with James Irvine Swinden, president of The Irvine Museum in California, and a maritime-inspired signature cocktail.

Why: Acclaimed artist Arthur Beaumont’s exhibit “Art of the Sea” perfectly complements Savannah’s recent designation as a WWII Heritage City by the National Park Service and Ships of the Sea’s mission to educate the community about Savannah’s illustrious maritime history.
