The Bank of America Museums on Us program offers FREE weekend general admission to Bank of America, Merrill, or Bank of America Private Bank credit or debit cardholders, at 11 top cultural attractions throughout Georgia.

SCAD Museum of Art: Chase Hall exhibition: ‘The Close of Day’: Chase Hall interrogates the realities of race in America through innovative figurative painting techniques and iconography that engage the past and the present. Using coffee grounds as pigment on raw cotton canvases, Hall varies the levels of coarseness and fineness of the bean to achieve a range of tonal values, metaphorically articulating a non-monolithic Black experience and evoking his biracial hybridity. The works address a range of issues, from the complexities of race and labor to the weighty histories of coffee, cotton, and other commodities, as well as personal meditations on the artist’s own place in society and history.

Georgia State Railroad Museum:
Located in Tricentennial Park, Georgia State Railroad Museum is a beautiful National Historic Landmark located at the old Central of Georgia Railway Savannah Shops and Terminal Facilities. With a fully operational turntable, you have the chance to explore historic railcars, experience the handcar, and go on guided tours. Be sure to check our Train Ride Schedule to experience one of our Site Tours by Train on a historic steam or diesel locomotive!

Old Fort Jackson:
National Historic Landmark offering daily cannon firings and exciting interactive programs for adults, kids and families! You can experience unique views of Savannah’s riverfront and walk on the grounds of one of the oldest brick fortifications on the East Coast.

Savannah Children’s Museum:
Located in Tricentennial Park, Savannah Children’s Museum is the perfect place for families to explore and play! The museum is currently entirely outdoors and located in the old Central of Georgia Railway Carpentry Shop lower level and upper courtyard. The museum features over a dozen exhibits designed to expand the imaginations of children including an exploration maze, a reading nook and a sensory garden.

Savannah History Museum: Loyalists & Liberty Battlefield Tours
March through history and learn about the American Revolution in Savannah! Experience a black powder demonstration, immerse yourself in 1779 Savannah, and hear about the personalities that shaped the city’s fight for freedom.

Loyalists & Liberty Battlefield Tours Friday and Saturday at 10:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm.

Pin Point Heritage Museum:
Located in the old A.S. Varn & Son Oyster and Crab Factory, experience the Gullah/Geechee culture first hand. For nearly 100 years, the community of Pin Point was quietly isolated on the banks of the Moon River just south of Savannah. Now, you can explore the refurbished museum complex and experience multimedia presentations, exciting exhibits and unparalleled views of the marsh!

Event Details

His action-packed paintings have been recognized by three U.S. Presidents. The prestigious National Geographic Magazine commissioned his works to accompany WWII stories. William Randolph Hearst called him a friend and one of the best illustrators at Hearst Newspapers. Admiral William Leahy, the most senior active-duty military officer of WWII, appointed him the official artist of the U.S. Navy Fleet.

Now Arthur Beaumont’s paintings are on display at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum, and Arthur’s son, Geoffrey Beaumont, is sharing captivating stories of his dad’s daring adventures. Join us in celebrating Arthur Beaumont and his Art of the Sea!

We invite you into the museum to enjoy almost three dozen dynamic Arthur Beaumont paintings. You can purchase the collection’s illustrated book and treat yourself to curated signature cocktails.

James Irvine Swinden, president of the Irvine Museum, organized Arthur Beaumont, Art of the Sea and will attend the celebration. We are honored that Ships of the Sea has been selected as one of only nine museums in the United States to mount this important exhibition.

The party begins on Thursday, April 6 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets to the event are $15 and must be ordered in advance. Geoffrey Beaumont will speak starting at 6:30 p.m. A cash bar will be available.
