Thunderbolt Blessing of the Fleet Call for Sponsors, Vendor Participation

Legacy Tradition Invites the Coastal Empire to Get Involved in Family-Friendly Event

The Town of Thunderbolt announces the third annual Blessing of the Fleet, and invites individuals, groups, and corporations to join in the maritime celebration. This year's festival will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 11 am to 4 pm on River Drive along the Wilmington River in Thunderbolt.

In its second year, Thunderbolt Blessing of the Fleet attracted more than 5,000 attendees to this free, family-friendly event. Guests enjoyed more than 90 high-quality vendors, offering a wide range of food, art, crafts, clothing, and more. Applications for vendor participation are currently open through February 29th. The town is seeking merchants, nonprofits, and food trucks, who offer a fun or unique business or product. All approved vendors will be notified by March 7th.

The Town of Thunderbolt is also seeking community partners interested in sponsoring this maritime tradition. A variety of preset sponsor levels are available as well as flexible custom options to meet any specific objectives from promoting your business to supporting the rebirth of a century-old tradition. Sponsor inquiries can be sent to events@thunderboltga.org. Applications to participate in the land and boat parades are also open for groups and corporations.

On hiatus since the 1980s, the festival triumphantly returned in 2022 with more than 3,000 in attendance. Thunderbolt will continue to honor the Town’s community and legacy, by providing events to strengthen, educate, and improve community development.
