April Fool’s & The Full Pink Moon: A Night of High Spirits (Literally)
They say April 1st is for fools, but in Savannah, the only “fool” is the one who thinks they’re alone in the dark. This year, the Full Pink Moon rises over the moss-draped squares, casting a glow that makes the thin veil between worlds look positively translucent.
Join Sixth Sense Savannah Ghost Tours® at the iconic Clary’s Cafe for a night of haunted history, witty banter, and legitimate goosebumps. Whether the ghosts are playing pranks on us or we’re just trespassing on their turf, it’s going to be a night to remember… if you survive the storytelling.
🕯️ CHOOSE YOUR LEVEL OF DARKNESS
We’ve tiered our terror so everyone can find their perfect “shade” of haunting:
7:00 PM – All Ages (The “Family-Friendly” Frights): A perfect introduction to Savannah’s spirits. Bring the kids—if they’re braver than you are.
8:00 PM – 16 (Prime Time Haunt): The shadows get longer and the stories get grittier. Perfect for a date night that ends in clinging to each other for dear life.
9:30 PM – 16 (The Darkest Hour): Our most intense experience. We save the truly unsettling stuff for the witching hour. Not for the faint of heart, the easily spooked, or those with a weak grip on reality.
📍 THE MORBID DETAILS
WHEN: April 1st (April Fool’s Day Full Pink Moon)
DURATION: 1.5 – 2 Hours of walking through history (and mystery).
DEPARTURE POINT: Clary’s Cafe (404 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA).
CHECK-IN: Please arrive 10 minutes early to meet your guide. The dead don’t like to be kept waiting, and they have all the time in the world—you don’t.
🎟️ DON’T BE A FOOL—BOOK NOW
We aren’t kidding when we say advanced reservations are strictly required. Our tours fill up faster than a graveyard in a yellow fever outbreak.

The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) will host its 17th Annual Night of Champions & Hiring Expo on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront Hotel.
The annual event celebrates businesses that provide meaningful employment opportunities to differently-abled adults, including individuals with Down syndrome, while highlighting the importance of inclusive workplaces.
Tickets, tables, and sponsorships are now available for purchase. LDSS offers sponsorships at all levels, and all tickets and sponsorships can be secured online at
https://ldssga.org/night-of-champions/
Despite progress nationwide, people with disabilities continue to face significant barriers to employment. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 22.7 percent of people with disabilities were employed in 2024, compared with more than 60 percent of people without disabilities.
Night of Champions highlights employers helping close that gap by creating environments where individuals of all abilities can contribute, succeed and grow. The evening will also feature a Hiring Expo designed to connect businesses with job seekers and demonstrate the value of inclusive hiring.
“Night of Champions allows employers to see the real impact of inclusion,” said Joe Marchese, event chair. “When businesses invest in people with different abilities, the results benefit everyone — stronger teams, higher retention and a more connected community.”
The evening will include a cocktail hour and Hiring Expo, followed by dinner and a recognition ceremony honoring businesses that champion inclusive employment. Attendees will hear success stories and learn how inclusive hiring strengthens organizations and expands opportunity.
Proceeds from Night of Champions support LDSS programs throughout the year, including Camp Buddy for children with Down syndrome, the annual Buddy Walk in Forsyth Park, and regular support meetings for families and friends.

This exhibition will mainly cover agricultural practices and beliefs in Burkina Faso and Mali, which are within the savanna and forest areas of the Western Sudan region (South Saharan). Most of these lands can be difficult to cultivate, to control, so the farmers in these regions have to continuously strike a bargain with the spirits of the uncultivated terrain. This happens through unique festivals, ceremonies, and agricultural societies, which will be the topic of this exhibition.
The wilderness is significant in many African cosmologies because it is the inverse of culture – so by describing its characteristics, the ideal characteristics of African society can be defined. Many communities are organized into three realms, the spiritual, the physical, and the in-between. The physical realm is the controllable realm – it is orderly, governed by laws, and includes cultivated fields and domesticated animals. The wilderness is beyond human control so it is unpredictable, potentially dangerous, but there are powers to be harnessed as it can also be a source of medicine, sustenance, and wisdom. This exhibition will present a brief overview of the beliefs associated with the wilderness and the agricultural practices that follow, to show how these concepts translated into social experiences and visible form through selected artifacts from the Savannah African Art Museum.

Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum—an acclaimed museum dedicated to celebrating and preserving America’s maritime legacy—is delighted to present “Beyond the Plate: Sea and Sky,” an exciting new solo exhibition
Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum—an acclaimed museum dedicated to celebrating and preserving America’s maritime legacy—is delighted to present “Beyond the Plate: Sea and Sky,” an exciting new solo exhibition featuring nautical-inspired, mixed-media art by Rob Strati, from September 25, 2025 through April 12, 2026.
“Beyond the Plate” will showcase new work by one of America’s hottest contemporary artists. Strati has recently enjoyed sold-out exhibits at Duane Reed Gallery in St. Louis and FREMIN Gallery in New York and has sold work to top international art collectors in New York, London, Hong Kong, Dubai and beyond. Strati’s art incorporates broken porcelain plates that have been embellished and adorned with creative details. The exhibition features the artist’s latest bold, kinetic mixed-media works and limited-edition prints as well as an ambitious site-specific installation that will be suspended from the ceiling of the Ships of the Sea atrium.
Strati’s latest series was inspired by a porcelain plate from his wife’s late mother, which accidentally fell and broke into fragments. In order to preserve the shards of the shattered plate, and the memory of someone vitally important to both him and his wife, the artist began working on his “Fragmented” series, using pen and paper to “explore the possibilities of things broken and the stories that can evolve from the pieces left behind.”
Each piece of Strati’s art starts with the breaking of a porcelain plate and takes approximately two weeks to complete. Although the artist is rigorous about his creative process, he always allows space for spontaneous ideas to emerge from the fragments. Over time, he has learned important lessons about art and life by creating new works of art from broken shards.
Strati describes his work as a “mix of chaos and control” that is constantly evolving. He hopes his upcoming exhibition at Ships of the Sea will inspire visitors to think about time, creativity and beauty in fresh, new ways. All of the art in “Beyond the Plate” will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum.
ABOUT ROBERT STRATI: Originally from Boston, Strati grew up in Columbus, Ohio and earned a B.A. in History of Art from Ohio State University. His art has been exhibited at leading international museums and art galleries and has been featured in The Art Newspaper, Whitehot Magazine, Reclaim, Beaux Arts, Sculpture Magazine, Vice and The Village Voice. Strati’s work and “Beyond the Plate” will also be featured in ARTS Southeast’s fall issue of IMPACT Magazine in October 2025.
