Bunny Ware. "Bunny in the City", Named Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business Advocate of the Year

The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Bunny Ware and her company, “Bunny in the City”, as the recipient of the 2025 Small Business Advocate Award for her deep commitment to the community and tireless efforts as a small business champion.

“Bunny Ware epitomizes the spirit of this award,” said Bert Brantley, president and CEO of the Savannah Chamber of Commerce. “For over two decades, she has captured the stories of the ‘quirky’ and cool characters that make Savannah unique. Known as ‘Savannah’s Best Connector,’ she not only showcases local businesses but also works tirelessly behind the scenes – offering invaluable advice, guidance, and most importantly, creating meaningful connections that help businesses thrive.”

Ware, who began her community efforts with her feature column, “Bunny in the City,” covering social events in the Savannah Morning News for 13 years and has a weekly segment on WSAV where she features the community events of the week. She also has a weekly radio segment with WRHQ and provides content to Savannah Master Calendar, WRHQ, Savannah Business Journal, Connect Savannah, Savannah Tribune, the Effingham Herald and WSAV.

Ware said the Bunny in the City team will continue to bring professionalism, passion, and compassion to their work – always ready to support and celebrate their friends in the community - by building a bridge between media and community and working with people who help others.

“To receive this award was a surprise,” Ware said. “I’ve managed to stay behind the scenes while highlighting small businesses and lifting up the people who make Savannah special. My goal is to use media platforms to help promote businesses, connect people and help newcomers and little guys have success.”
