uring this in-person workshop, Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts will join Ms. Chrissy and Ms. Hannah in Forsyth Park to create art out of oyster shells from the Bull River! Oysters and all supplies will be provided!
In the Coastal Empire and Low Country, oysters are often eaten at social gatherings. Locals are known to save oyster shells for decorative purposes. Inspired by this tradition of creativity, we offer the Oyster Art in the Park workshop! The oyster shells we decorate for this workshop are typically harvested from local oyster beds in the Bull River harvest area.
We will supply the oyster shells (one per Girl Scout) and art supplies! We will also bring the badge earned for each Girl Scout (plus our patch)! This workshop will take approximately one hour to complete.
Junior Girl Scouts will earn the Outdoor Art Explorer badge and Cadette Girl Scouts will earn the Outdoor Art Apprentice badge.
