Christmas Cantata

The choir of First Baptist Church will offer a special presentation as a part of morning worship on Sunday, December 17th at 11:00 am. The program will feature a modern choral work entitled “Glad Tidings of Great Joy” by Robert Hebble, which is scored for SATB choir, soprano soloist, organ, and harp. Favorite Christmas carols such as “The Snow Lay on the Ground,” “Coventry Carol,” “He Is Born,” “Silent Night,” and “O Holy Night” will be included. The service will also feature narration provided by Rev. Dr. Kyle T. Reese (Senior Minister) centered around the church’s 2023 Advent theme of finding joy in the midst of longing. The choir is under the direction of Rev. Dr. Justin Addington and accompanied by Rev. James C. Richardson. The soprano soloist will be Gina K. Shields, and the harpist will be Kristin King.
