Event Details

Islands Cottage Art-Studio and Gallery and The Book Lady Bookstore are hosting the book launch party for local writer Helen P. Bradley’s debut novel, Breach of Trust. In the book, the director of Savannah’s crime victim assistance program is thrown into a tailspin when her young male employee accuses their boss, the district attorney, of sexual harassment. Helen’s book was inspired by her 27 years as director of Chatham County’s nationally-recognized victim assistance program. It’s been called a “compelling story of corruption vs. courage, community and friendship.”
Books will be available for sale and signing at The Book Lady Bookstore’s table. Light refreshments and wine will be served.

ABOUT HELEN P. BRADLEY:
A native of Bethune, S.C., Helen has lived all her adult life in Savannah, where she headed a nationally recognized victim advocacy program in the district attorney’s office. In August 2022, the former newspaper journalist won first place in a national essay contest with “From High Heels to Hot Wheels,” an essay that reveals how she unexpectedly became a first-time mom at the age of 52, when her husband’s two-year-old grandson came to live with them. After leaving her victim advocacy career, Helen launched her own business, Savannah Simple Weddings, where she officiates weddings. She’s currently writing her next novel based on her real-life adventures as a wedding officiant and custodial grandmother.
