Vets United is the combining of local veteran and servicemember resources, working together to deliver those resources to our guests directly. These resources include Veteran Service Officers, Veterans Administration, Colleges, Career Opportunities, Non-Profit Organizations, and Group Related Therapies such as such motorcycle organizations and running groups. Rather than having servicemembers and veterans searching around town, the internet, or social media for the assistance that they need or for a group that they could provide assistance to, we want them to become a guest of Vets United. Our guests will find an abundance of local resources in one location.
Not only is our goal to provide resources to our guests and guests to our resources, ultimately we want to boost the community. To ensure our guests are happy and want to stick around, as well as boost the family environment for our military and veteran community, we will provide entertainment at no costs. This entertainment includes live music, inflatables, and more. Bring you and your family some lawn chairs to stick around to enjoy the entertainment before or after checking out our vendors. No worry about food either. We will have food trucks onsite, providing an excellent selection for the entire family. We will work with our food vendors to keep the costs to our guests low.

Men Against Sexual Violence! Grab your most comfortable heels and meet at the Bandstand at Forsyth Park. The Teal H.E.A.L. (Help End Assault with Love) Walk distinctively allows Mary’s Place to inspire support from males to join the effort to end sexual violence to all victims we serve and bring awareness of the struggles they face. Participants can register for $25 and are encouraged to raise additional funds from family, friends, and colleagues or form a team! Participants walk around Forsyth Park in high-heel shoes, symbolizing the steps victims take toward healing. Females, you can participate too, by providing support to males on their journey.
A Teal HEEL award will be presented to the group and individuals with the most funds raised. Each year more people in the community are joining in the walk and assisting in supporting the Mary’s Place Mission. Teal HEAL is a playful opportunity for men to raise awareness in their community about a severe issue. It’s not easy walking in someone else’s shoes, but it’s a light-hearted event that gets the community talking about gender relations and sexual violence. It is critical to have open communication and fight the stigma associated with rape and sexual assault. Many victims live in silence for a lifetime – never disclosing their assault and, worse, never getting the help they need. As a result, victims never heal, and perpetrators are never stopped or held accountable. While men are victims too, many are also fathers, husbands, sons, and brothers of women who have been assaulted and feel paralyzed by the thought of an assault against their loved one and experience feelings of inadequacy because they feel they cannot help. What can you do? Join us in this walk and take a unified stand against all forms of sexual violence!
*Each participant acknowledges with their registration that Mary’s Place of the Coastal Empire is in no way responsible for any injury while on-site at Forsyth Park*

Join us on June 4th, 2022 we take a trip back 100 years to the 1920s for a party unlike any that Savannah has seen for decades. Break out your best 1920s glamour and join us at Ghost Coast Distillery, Savannah’s first distillery since just before prohibition. Guests will be treated to an evening of live jazz music, dancing, 1920s era-specific hors d’oeuvres, photo ops and of course booze, served up by event host Ghost Coast Distillery. Those wondering what to wear can look to 1920s glamour & attire which organizers highly recommend. Other suggestions would be to wear black, white, gold and pearls.
A highlight of the evening will a live jazz band, a must for any prohibition-era-themed event. Jazz great Stephanie Nakasian will be front and center with her vocals; she is an internationally recognized touring and recording artist specializing in jazz and the great American songbook with the New York Times calling her work “vocal virtuosity.” Stephanie has toured with jazz legend Jon Hendricks and has appeared with luminaries such as Pat Metheny, Bobby McFerrin, Phil Woods, Chris Botti, Harry Allen, and many more at major venues and festivals all over the world and has recorded 15 CDs and authored 3 books. Her late husband was renowned jazz pianist Hod O’Brien and their daughter is super jazz vocal star, Veronica Swift. Stephanie’s band is a stellar group of local musicians led by bassist Karl Kimmel who spent 38 years directing bands at the famed Omni Homestead resort in Virginia. Bill Smith will be on guitar and Aaron Jennings on drums to bring a swinging entertaining and fun performance on June 4th.
Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods for a Charity Canned Food Drive. Every two cans donated will be exchanged for a raffle ticket that will make donors eligible to win donated raffle prizes. Afterward, canned goods will be given to Emmaus House which provides hearty meals and basic services to the hungry and those in need in Savannah.
